                                                                                                     VACANCIES NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL OF ZIMBABWE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the Positions that have arisen within the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe as listed below:

The Council The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) is an agency of Government charged with Development and Promotion and regulation of the Arts. Its functions are, to foster, develop and improve the knowledge, understanding and practice of the arts for the benefit all citizens as enshrined in the national Constitution. NACZ has responsibility to develop the Arts and to promote their access, presentation, performance, execution and exhibition throughout the nation. This entails steering the creative sector towards professionalisation so that it is structured to benefit practitioners, stakeholders and communities.

1. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (Arts Development and Promotion ) – ( 1 Post) DUTY STATION – Head Office reporting to Deputy Director.

Key Result Areas: Coordination of talent search and nurturing programmes, Arts Development and promotion programmes, Keep abreast of current trends in the sector, research, benchmark, and implement best practices in the arts sector. Development of arts policies, procedures that encourage creativity and innovation.

Qualifications and knowledge: University degree or equivalent qualification in a field related to the arts/culture/social sciences with a second degree being an added advantage. A mature person with knowledge of the arts and culture industry with a minimum of three (3) years experience in a managerial position. Must be computer literate and possesses a clean class four (4) driver’s licence.

2. MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION MANAGER – ( 1 Post ) DUTY STATION – Head Office reporting to the Director.

Key Result Areas: Marketing and resource mobilization for programmes. Be the spokesperson for the organization and prepare speeches and papers for Senior Council Officials. Prepare and Publish NACZ monthly newsletter and magazine. Develop funding models and marketing strategies for the arts. Qualifications and Experience: A degree in marketing and knowledge of the arts and culture. Must be computer literate with working knowledge of desktop publishing and web designing. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in marketing, media or public relations and possess a clean class 4 driver’s licence.

3. PROVINCIAL ARTS MANAGER – ( 4 Posts ) DUTY STATIONS – (Mashonaland East, Matabeleland North, Midlands and Manicaland Provinces) reporting to Assistant Director (Arts Development and Promotion)

Key Result Areas: Promotion and development of the arts and culture within the province, resource mobilization, research and documentation of various projects related to the arts, provide a public relations interface for the organization and administer and coordinate the provincial activities and programmes.

Qualifications and knowledge: University degree or an equivalent qualification in a field related to the arts and culture A mature person with knowledge of the arts and culture industry with a minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory position. Must be computer literate
